Slow waking up and the last cup of this bright berrry Yirgacheffe tells me this is a great bean for blending.
Upon further research, I find that Yirgacheffe is a town in Ethopia, the motherland of the coffee bean, the country of Haile Selassie's rule.
Some consider Yirgacheffe coffee to be the best in the world. John DeBartolo (who calls himself the Coffee Meister of NYC--haven't heard of him until now, but we'll go with it) describes Yirgacheffe as such: "This intense feeling coffee enhances the palate with its very distinctive floral bouquet, rich body, a pleasingly fragrant aroma....".
The second brew around I mixed it up with some Columbian, and was happier to find the brew mellowed and darker, to suit my tastes. Which gets me thinking about cowboy coffee--next post.
